The station is powered by a Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station. The data is collected every few seconds and the website updated every 3 seconds using WDL and 10 minutes with statistical data. This site and it's data is collected using Weather Display Software. The station hardware consists of an ISS unit (integrated sensor suite). The integrated sensor suite includes rain collector, temperature and humidity sensors and an anemometer. Rain collector, temperature and humidity sensors are enclosed in a standard radiation shield. The anemometer is mounted separately on a mast situated on the roof at a height of about 25 feet, the ISS is fitted with a daytime aspirated fan and is situated in an optimal position for the highest possible accuracy.The location of this weather station is sited at Latitude 32:20'21 S Longitude 115:44'39 E in the coastal suberb of Warnbro approx 50 kms south of the city of Perth and has been operational since May 2007.
The high resolution webcam is a canon A520 mounted in a weatherproof housing, and updates images every 15 minutes. Power to the camera, is fed from a separate regulated power supply and connected to the PC via USB extenders with 20 meters of Cat5 cable between. The overlay information is achieved through ImageMagick and Camover.exe
